PRP Regenerative Medicine

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a revolutionary procedure that uses components of the body’s own blood cells to stimulate the natural healing process in certain orthopedic conditions.

The body’s first response to any soft tissue (ligaments and tendons) injury is to deliver platelet cells. Filled with healing and growth factors, platelets jump-start the repair process and attract the essential aid of stem cells.

PRP therapy’s natural healing process accelerates the body’s efforts by delivering a higher concentration of platelets through a simple injection. It provides effective pain relief and faster healing, and it can eliminate the need for surgery and prolonged recovery.

PRP therapy is showing promising results with osteoarthritis of the knee, shoulder, hip, and spine, as well as rotator cuff tears, chronic plantar fasciitis, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, tennis elbow, ankle sprains, tendonitis, and ligament sprains.

What to Expect

This in-office procedure is relatively quick and simple. We begin by drawing some blood from you, which is then processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets from the rest of the blood plasma. This concentrated solution is then reintroduced into your body via injections at the site of the injury or symptoms. Our providers rely on ultrasound technology to precisely guide the injection, so the area requiring healing is effectively targeted.

What PRP Is Used For

Patients and doctors alike are singing the praises of PRP therapy – because it essentially triggers the body’s own natural healing response and promises long-term relief – all without having to undergo surgery. In some cases, it may even help you avoid surgery.

PRP has been used to help patients with a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, including:

  • ACL injuries
  • Golfer’s elbow
  • Inflammation caused by osteoarthritis
  • Joint pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Pulled muscles
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments) tears
  • Sprains and strains
  • Tendonitis
  • Tennis elbow
